strategic projects lead

Benefits

Salary: £43,000 pa PRO RATA
Three-day week (0.6 FTE)
Twelve-month Fixed Term Contract (with possiblity to extend subject to funding)

The role will be based in our central London office, with some flexibility around remote-working.

About the Role

The Edinburgh TV Festival, one of the most respected media events in the UK, and its umbrella charity The TV Foundation are embarking on an exciting period of strategic development as they look ahead to its 50th anniversary and beyond.

We are seeking a highly organised, resourceful and proactive Strategic Projects Lead to work closely with the CEO on projects underpinning both the TV Festival and TV Foundation’s next five-year plan. This role will sit at the heart of the Festival’s future vision, helping to deliver the operational, communications and stakeholder engagement required to support a new chapter for the organisation.

There will be a requirement to find a regular time to work in our London offices subject to the CEO’s diary but we endeavour to support flexibility around hours as well as working from home requests where possible. 

 

This is a rare opportunity to help shape the future of one of the UK’s most influential screen industry events. The Edinburgh TV Festival is wholly owned by the not-for-profit charity The TV Foundation, with a mission to support access and inclusion in the media sector. We actively welcome applications from people from all backgrounds, particularly those currently underrepresented in the creative industries.

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Coordinate workstreams across venues, logistics, industry engagement and communications
  • Research and compile reports, sector analysis, and benchmarking
  • Support stakeholder engagement including broadcasters, sponsors, and public bodies
  • Create project plans from interdepartmental briefs
  • Track milestones, manage timelines and help keep projects on schedule and on message
  • Liaise with multiple departments to ensure alignment with year-round and charitable priorities
  • Provide direct executive support to the CEO across long-term strategic initiatives

Person Specification:

Essential:

  • 5 years + experience in events, media or cultural organisations (or demonstrable transferable skills)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to summarise, brief, and present clearly
  • Comfortable working with senior stakeholders and sensitive information
  • Confident communicator and representative of the organisations’ interests online and in-person
  • Project coordination skills – from scheduling to research and follow-up
  • Collaborative and excited by innovation

Desirable:  

  • Experience of the TV industry and current developments
  • Familiarity with public funding and working with local and national governments
