impact manager - social change

About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Impact Unit as the Impact Manager for our social change programmes. You’ll be joining the team behind the TV Foundation and the Edinburgh TV Festival to deliver events and programmes in our core impact areas: Climate Storytelling and Class & Social Equality.   

The TV Foundation’s Impact Unit helps shape the way the TV industry works to make it open to all; a place where new perspectives, ideas and stories thrive. The Edinburgh TV Festival brings together the TV industry, featuring captivating discussions, masterclasses and panels, alongside networking opportunities and social events.   

You will work closely with our Impact Director to design and deliver these initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a passion for purpose-led TV, a commitment to diversity in the industry, and the empathy and the ability to deliver tangible change.

Person Specification:

Essential:

  • Commitment to moving the agenda on all our impact areas, with a strong interest in either climate storytelling; class representation; and/or the wider need for diversity and inclusion. 
  • Experience of delivering training and/or events from conception to production, from liaising with the venue to briefing speakers. 
  • Strong organisational and admin skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines. 
  • Great interpersonal and collaborative skills, able to build relationships across the team, with participants in these initiatives and our supporters. 
  • Proficient in using databases and a range of software including Office. 
  • Passion for television and a commitment to promoting diversity within the industry. 

Desirable  

  • Experience in funding research and bid-writing 
  • Experience facilitating or chairing events. 
  • Connections across the TV industry, particularly in areas that are interested in creating change. 
  • Experience managing marketing campaigns. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage our class and social equality working group and deliver initiatives to support class representation in the industry.
  • Manage our widening participation activities including our impact bursaries 
  • Coordinate the production of high-profile events for our social change initiatives, including liaising with venues and contractors; and liaising with the speakers, hosts and participants. 
  • Deliver our career development programme, Changemakers, from managing the application and selection process through to producing the programme activities 
  • Working with our marketing team, manage the outreach and marketing of the social change initiatives, and all design materials for these programmes. 
  • Build close working relationships with a range of industry partners to provide connections and opportunities for our programme delegates. 
  • Proficient in using databases and a range of software including Office. 
  • Coordinate feedback and evaluation for all activities. 
  • Contribute to funding bids and actively seek out new partnerships and opportunities to support our growing work on social change and the TV industry.

Benefits

Salary: £43,000 pa pro rata
Fixed Term Contract: 9 months from January 2026 with potential to extend subject to funding.
Part-time, four-day working week.

The role is based in our London office, with some degree of flexible working, but an average of 3 days in office per week.
