festival board member

Overview

Board Member, TV Festival – Marketing Specialist (voluntary)

Location: UK-wide / Hybrid
Commitment: In addition to quarterly board meetings, we expect occasional availability to advise on marketing strategy and attend key events

The TV Festival is the UK’s most influential gathering of TV professionals — a place where broadcasters, producers, talent and rising stars come together to debate the future of television and champion the next generation of creatives.

As we plan for the Festival’s 50th edition and beyond, we are looking to appoint a new Board Member with deep expertise in marketing, communications, or brand strategy to help guide our evolution and support our mission to make the industry more inclusive, accessible and future-facing.

About the Role

This is a pivotal moment in the Festival’s journey, and we’re seeking a senior marketing professional who can provide strategic oversight on how we communicate our identity, grow audiences, and position the Festival as essential in a fast-changing media landscape.

As a member of the board of The TV Festival, you will:

  • Contribute strategic insight on brand positioning, audience development and campaign impact
  • Support the CEO and senior team in navigating marketing challenges and opportunities
  • Champion the work of the TV Foundation and help extend its reach through networks and partnerships

Who We’re Looking For

We’re open to a range of marketing backgrounds, but ideal candidates may have:

  • Experience in senior marketing, brand, or audience roles in media, creative industries, tech or major events
  • Strong strategic instincts, with the ability to see both detail and the bigger picture
  • A passion for the television and content industries and/or for supporting inclusion
  • Prior board experience is welcome but not essential

Why Join Us?

This is a chance to shape the future of a major cultural event with global reach and real impact. The TV Festival is wholly owned by The TV Foundation, a not-for-profit charity running landmark inclusion and development programmes including The Network, Visionaries and Changemakers.

We are especially keen to hear from individuals from underrepresented backgrounds in the screen and marketing sectors.
