After graduating with a degree in Natural Sciences from Cambridge University, Rick began his career on the stand-up comedy circuit. He now works as a writer and broadcaster.

Rick is passionate about politics and has been actively involved in campaigns to increase youth involvement and political participation. His first book, None Of The Above, was published in the run up to the 2015 General Election by Simon & Schuster. In it he describes the basics of the political process in the UK, gives an overview of the issues facing the country, and explains the power of your individual vote.

Alongside Dr Michael Brooks he hosts the hit podcast series Science(ish) delving in to the science behind popular culture. Science(ish): The Peculiar Science Behind The Movies (a Sunday Times Book of the Year 2017) is Rick’s second book.

As a presenter Rick’s numerous television credits include BBC One quiz show Impossible, documentaries The Bermuda Triangle Enigma (Channel 5) and Fatberg Autopsy (Channel 4), ITV2’s comedy roast Safeword and BBC Three’s live current affairs debate show Free Speech.

His original screenplay Burger Van Champion was commissioned as part of Channel 4’s Coming Up strand in 2013 and was described by the Observer as ‘a remarkable debut’ and by Time Out as ‘funny, touching [and] superbly written’.
