The network
Think TV's not for you? Think Again!
The Network is a free entry-level access programme for anyone aged 18+ who wants to start a career in television. It takes place every August alongside the Edinburgh TV Festival.
The 50 delegates selected for our 2024 cohort will get access to sessions, masterclasses and, workshops led by industry professionals. Previous companies have included MultiStory Media, BBC Studios, Fremantle and ITV Studios. Last year our Networkers worked with the likes of Louis Theroux, Chloe Burrows, Rosie Jones and the cast and writers of Eastenders.
You will also receive access to exclusive Festival sessions, accommodation in Edinburgh, a year of mentoring from an industry professional, and unlimited support to help you find paid TV jobs.

The Network is open to anyone with less than three months’ paid experience in the TV industry. If you have heaps of enthusiasm and a demonstrable interest in working in TV, we want to hear from you.

At the scheme, alongside all the other amazing workshops, I attended the drama workshop with the cast and crew of Holby City. And here I met Oliver Kent (Head of Continuing Drama, BBC) who suggested that we meet for a coffee when he was next in Cardiff.

I think The Network definitely kickstarted my career. I’ve had trouble finding jobs after I finished my MA in film, but people I met (guest speakers, my cohort and of course, the brilliant team from The Edinburgh TV Festival) have been guiding me.
