The network

Think TV's not for you? Think Again!

The Network brings together new entrants to the TV industry to make connections and gain practical insights that will help find their first TV role.

This free entry-level access programme for anyone, whatever their age, looking to start a career in TV. We are seeking dynamic, creative and good-hearted people with a genuine passion for TV.

We’re committed to opening doors and supporting those who may not otherwise find it easy to get started in TV. With that in mind, we prioritise people that are historically under-represented in the industry, particularly in terms of ethnicity, disability and socio-economic status.

This programme is designed to provide the skills, confidence and insight needed to take those first steps in your television career.

The Network delegates will receive a free pass and accommodation to Edinburgh TV Festival, take part in exclusive masterclasses and workshops led by industry professionals, such as the BBC Studios team behind EastEnders, as well as access to an industry mentor, yearlong events and a community of like-minded professionals.

LEWIS

Lewis Doherty

With the support of my TV mentor, a Shooting-AP working in documentary, alongside CV clinics set up with talent managers from Studio Lambert and Wonderhood Studios, I have gained roles within TV working as a Runner on a number of shows such as Britain’s Got Talent, Wheel of Fortune and...
TIZZY

Tizzy Burrows

Being selected for The Network was possibly the best thing that ever happened to me! It helped me break into the TV industry and secure my first runner job when I was just 18.
Yero Timi-Biu

Yero Timi-Biu – Writer & Director for TV & Film

Not only did my four days in Edinburgh provide a quick-fire introduction to a competitive, creative industry but a network of peers (for life) the same level as me.
