How did you get your current job? There should be a well-resourced, fair and open recruitment process from the most junior to most senior roles.
STARTING QUESTIONS
- Do you know how recruitment is handled across all departments and for all the shows you have a responsibility for?
- Can recruitment be given more time and resources to widen the search?
- Where do you advertise all your roles – are they on free-to-access sites; are they shared in places that could reach a wider pool of candidates?
- Have you set out formal hiring practices – are interviews based on competencies and different experiences not connections; is there an interview panel bringing different experiences and knowledge?
- Are you upfront about rates of pay?
