HOSTING HISTORY

host your own short-form TV show on Sky History.

Sky HISTORY and The TV Foundation are partnering to bring you the opportunity to host your own short-form history TV show.

Hosting History is a competition for fresh, energetic people studying or working in academia, who are full of ideas and haven’t featured on TV before, to see their unique fascination and style of communication on screen.

DEADLINE: Friday 28th February 2025

Hosting History Details

From extraordinary feats to everyday life, everyone has history. We’re not just looking for historians, but those with a fascination for the past. To enter, film a short 30-second to 2-minute clip of yourself presenting your particular subject area or passion. We’re looking for those who can deliver stories with confidence, wit and originality, who can communicate in a smart an unpretentious way. Those who can hook a younger, more easily distracted audience with ease.

The winner will see Sky HISTORY commission a 5 to 8-minute short-form TV programme with them as host to be broadcast across Sky HISTORY and HISTORY Play

JUDGING CRITERIA

1. Focusing on a remarkable, fascinating or insightful historical subject
2. Display an ease in entertaining and accessible story-telling
3. Ability to use grammar and style that speaks to a social media audience
