Terms and Conditions

A confirmation email will be sent to you and any delegates that you have registered, once payment has been received. Payment must be received in full before the event and all delegate details completed by 1 August, to ensure inclusion into the delegate and badge list.

Payment Methods and Fees

The Festival accepts payment by Mastercard, American Express, Visa and Visa Debit. All bookings are subject to a 4% booking fee. Credit card statements will show that payment has been made to Edinburgh International Television Festival Ltd. Payment by invoice is available until 21 July 2019 (Whereafter, card payments are accepted). All ticket purchases are subject to a 4% booking fee. Standard UK VAT charges will still be applied to all UK and international bookings. Registration is complete only when payment is received in full.

Cancellation and Refunds

Individuals have the right to request a refund within seven (7) business days from registration, under EU regulations. Subject to the forgoing, refunds are available up to 28 June 2019 when a request is received in writing to the Festival office and after this date, a no-refund policy applies. All cancellation requests within the valid time-periods listed above will be refunded in full minus booking fee and VAT thereon. No cancellations will be accepted outwith the valid time-periods listed above, however tickets can be transferred – see Transfers below. It may be necessary for reasons beyond our reasonable control (including, without limitation, due to acts of God, severe weather, fire, explosion, military or terrorist acts (or threats of any such acts), any industrial action or widespread illness) to alter the advertised content, timing and/or location of the Festival or to cancel the Festival. We reserve the right to do this at any time and we shall not be liable to you for any cost or other expenses (including, without limitation, wasted costs and expenses) incurred by you and/or your delegate(s) as a consequence (including, without limitation, Delegate Pass fees and travel and accommodation expenses). Edinburgh International Television Festival Ltd. will accept transfers if notified in writing up to 14 days before the event. A £50 administration fee (excl VAT) will apply, per delegate pass. Transfer requests for discounted rates must adhere to the specific eligibility rules outlined in the rates section. Concession Rate Eligibility

If an application for a concession rate is found to be incorrect or misleading at the time of booking, delegates will be required to pay the full standard registration rate of £755.00 plus UK VAT & 4% booking fee, before accessing the Festival. Details of eligibility can be found here.


By submitting your details via the website (as well as details of all delegates registered by you whom you confirm have authorised you to register them subject to these terms and conditions) you acknowledge and consent to receive the following communications: your ticket purchase confirmation; invitations to private Festival parties, drinks receptions and networking events taking place during the Festival, and a request to complete our post-Festival survey. You will only be contacted with information that is pertinent to your festival attendance, we will never pass on your contact information without your consent.

If you have selected ‘Yes’ to this question in your registration form:

  • ‘I am happy to receive relevant news and offers from Festival media partners via the Festival. Please note we will never pass on your data to a third-party.’

from time to time, we may share this data to carefully selected third parties, however the Festival will never share your contact details. Should you wish to opt-out from all communication, including event information only, please contact support@thetvfestival.com.

To unsubscribe from emails, please click the unsubscribe link that appears at the bottom of every email. Please be aware that the Festival records attendance through various technological methods, and your attendance may be recorded at various events including sessions, exhibition stands and parties. Most prominently, the Festival uses badge scanning to record delegate traffic and record attendee information. As aforementioned, your personal data may be shared to third parties, but the Festival will never share your contact details. If you would rather not have your attendance recorded, then please refrain from marking your attendance and ensure you decline to have your badge scanned. EITF is a charitable organisation and steps have been taken to ensure that consistently high standards of data protection are in place throughout the company.

As a registered delegate of the festival you will automatically be included in our delegate list both online and in print. If you do not wish to be listed please contact support@thetvfestival.com. We will not publish any of your contact information.

There are official festival photographers circulating all festival venues – all photography will be used in future festival promotional material. No images will be sold on to third parties. Please make our photographers aware if you do not wish to be photographed.
