THE TV FOUNDATION LAUNCHES NEW VISIONARIES PROGRAMME

Applications now open for Visionaries, Changemakers and The Network at Edinburgh TV Festival.

The TV Foundation is seeking TV’s rising stars to join the new Visionaries programme – the next evolution of the successful Ones To Watch programme.

The selected Visionaries will have the ideas and ambition to redefine the industry in their image with compassion and creativity.

Twenty-five TV professionals will join the community this year as the 2025 Visionaries. The year-long programme will champion and connect TV’s best and brightest to give them the ability to turn their vision into real change for how the industry works and what we see on our screens.

They will have the chance to develop professionally and personally, with exclusive sessions at Edinburgh TV Festival and throughout the year, plus access to a growing network of like-minded people.

The Foundation’s ReConnect programme is being incorporated into Visionaries and will allow five spaces to be reserved specifically for individuals who are returning to the TV industry after time away for any reason, to give all participants a wider professional network.

The TV Foundation has supported more than 4,000 talented TV professionals through career development programmes since 1994. Over the past decade Ones to Watch has evolved to support many of today’s industry leaders, instilling a spirit of fairness and equity into our industry. Visionaries is refocusing the programme to meet the demand for creative and bold thinkers that can respond to the opportunities and challenges for TV right now.

Applications are also open for the second edition of the climate leadership programme Changemakers; and The Network for new entrants to the industry.

The Network is a free entry-level access programme for anyone, whatever their age, who wants to start a career in television. We’re here to open doors for people that wouldn’t otherwise find it easy to get their start in TV. They have access to sessions, masterclasses and workshops led by industry professionals at the Edinburgh TV Festival, including workshops from the BBC Studios Drama Productions and EastEnders team. Plus, a year of mentoring from our Visionaries, and access to a community of supportive TV professionals.

Changemakers is for anyone in a leadership position with an interest in bringing more and better climate content to the screen. We’re looking for passion to make TV that matters, not climate experts. They will take part in a series of workshops throughout the year to connect them with the latest climate leadership ideas and research. Plus, a free pass and accommodation at Edinburgh TV Festival 2025.

The deadline for applications for Visionaries, The Network and Changemakers is Thursday, March 20.
