Toto Bruin is a non-binary screenwriter and actor from South London. As a screenwriter Toto’s work focuses on original and unusual character-driven comedies and dramas, specialising in stories about modern issues that are quick-witted, dark, and full of heart. Toto has had three short films produced in the last three years through funding and competitions: ‘PELICANS’ starring Edward Bluemel (Sex Education, Killing Eve), ‘NOT A MOURNING PERSON’ starring Tara Fitzgerald (Legend, Game of Thrones) and one-take LGBTQ+ drama ‘TWOFOLD’ starring Phoebe Campbell (House of The Dragon) and Rebecca Calder (I May Destroy You). The latter was recently nominated for ‘The British Short Film Awards 2023’.

As an actor Toto is mostly notably known for playing series regular ‘Lucy Tozer’ in Russell T Davies critically acclaimed BAFTA winning series ‘IT’S A SIN’, and can also been seen in ‘THE GREAT’, and Nathaniel Martello-White’s directorial debut ‘THE STRAYS’.

Toto loves writing scripts as much as they love eating bread (which is a lot), and are currently working on numerous bold and naughty pilots for television.
