Sarah Asante

Sarah Asante is a development strategist with 20 years’ experience across British TV, including a decade in senior scripted development roles at the BBC and UKTV, shaping what gets commissioned and championing new creative voices.

She launched Asante Space in 2025 after four years at UKTV, where she developed and greenlit projects including Meet the Richardsons, Sneakerhead with Big Zuu and Hugo Chegwin, Murder They Hope starring Johnny Vegas and Sian Gibson, and Newark, Newark with Mat Horne and Morgana Robinson. Prior to that, Sarah was part of the BBC’s award-winning comedy team, helping develop and greenlight Famalam and the pilot of Dreaming Whilst Black.

Alongside her executive career, Sarah mentors filmmakers for the BFI, has served on BAFTA TV and Learning Committees, and regularly delivers industry masterclasses on storytelling, development and the business of TV.
