Nicky Huggett

Nicky is currently VP of Factual Development at Nutopia, a company that is known for bringing science content to the masses, through a commercial and populist approach. From Nat Geo’s Limitless with Chris Hemsworth to Welcome to Earth with Will Smith, they aim to entertain and educate the widest audience. Having studied climatology at university, Nicky wanted to work in television because what she had learnt from reading IPCC reports about the faltering Gulf Stream gave her a drive to find the secret recipe for changing audiences’ hearts and minds. Before Nutopia, Nicky ran the development team at HiddenLight, the production company set up by Hillary and Chelsea Clinton, devising shows including Gutsy for AppleTV+, which featured iconic female trailblazers in the climate space. She strongly believes that the Changemakers programme could help her unlock the secret to embedding vital climate messaging seamlessly into the programmes she brings to screen.
