Naomi Yang

New Writers Collective 2023

Naomi Yang is a Chinese/British writer and actor. Born in Beijing and raised in Manchester, she likes to explore themes of identity and culture in her work.  Her pilot, Unreasonable Behaviour, is an intergenerational comedy drama about divorce and family trauma. She’s thrilled to be supported by All3Media as part of their New Writers Collective. She was selected for the Royal Court Playwriting Group and her play Lactose Intolerant, developed with Papergang Theatre, received Arts Council funding for development. Naomi was selected for BAFTA’s Elevate programme and her acting credits include Wolfe (Sky), Chimerica (Channel 4) and BAFTA-nominated film Lilting. Naomi is currently performing in RSC production My Neighbour Totoro at the Barbican.
