Matt Gurr

Matt Gurr is a writer from Penrith, drawn to stories that explore the tensions between the past and the present; progress and tradition; fantasy and reality. Working across stage and screen, he has been part of the Royal Court Writers Group, Mercury Playwrights Scheme and the Warner Bros. Discovery x Royal Exchange Theatre Writers Programme. His work has been presented at Theatre Royal Haymarket, King’s Head Theatre and Mercury Theatre. He has been selected for this year’s New Writers Collective to develop Unearth, a folk horror thriller inspired by real environmental conflicts in Cumbria.
