Ones to Watch 2023

A comedy writer from Lancashire whose work includes ‘Stephen Hawking’s New Voice’ ft. Rebel Wilson, Stephen Fry & more (BBC1/NBCAmerica) and ‘The Designers’ ft. Jamie Demetriou & Nick Mohammed for Comic Relief. Her sketches have amassed over 300M views and her Comedy Central series ‘Modern Horror Stories’ was nominated for Debut Writer at EdTV fest’s New Voice Awards. She’s written sketches for the cast of Stranger Things and Derry Girls and co-writes Radio 4 sitcom ‘Ability’ with Lost Voice Guy. She’s written episodes of young adult comedy dramas for BBC and has recently been developing shows with Disney+ and ITVX.

Kat’s ability to write sketch and long form narrative makes her an incredibly versatile comedy writer. Whether she’s delivering heartfelt hometown stories, or building big surreal comedy worlds, she always manages to balance both heart and humour in all her ideas.
