Daisy is a fourth year PhD student in the School of English at the University of Leeds, living in London. Her research explores representations of disability, class, and resistance in contemporary austerity Britain, with a focus on twenty-first century literature and film.
During her PhD she has made two documentaries – Disability on Screen: Past, Present, and Future, created in partnership with the British Film Institute, and The Sick Man of Europe: Health, Protest, and Community in Glasgow, which is funded by the Wellcome Trust. Through these films she showcases diverse perspectives, elevates untold stories, and communicates engaging and socially impactful research.
