Originally from Canada with a background in neuroscience, Taryn found her TV industry calling when she realised she could combine her love of science and art in specialist factual television. Working in production and development across premium documentaries for Nutopia, she is passionate about finding original stories and building relationships with contributors across the world.
Taryn’s feature documentary about the drum majorette girls in South Africa’s most dangerous township has been shown at festivals around the world, where it picked up awards for “Best New Director” and “Best Feature Documentary”. In her spare time, Taryn enjoys writing drama specs and directs her own short docs.
Taryn’s ultimate goal is to develop and produce an award-winning documentary.
