Carla Grande

Shooting Producer, Freelance

Carla is a documentary Shooting Producer interested in films which challenge perceptions and leave you with more questions than answers. Building robust relationships and tenaciously problem solving has taken her trekking through Mayan pyramids, deep in the Omani desert with the British Army and being fully embedded in a school through lockdown.

An experienced self-taught shooter moving into directing, she’s used to wearing many hats on primetime singles including BBC3’s Stacey Dooley: Back on the Psych Ward and Channel 5’s Esther Rantzen: Living with Grief. She’s currently working on a Dispatches whilst pitching ideas to direct her first film.

Proud of her Spanish upbringing, Carla’s goal is to direct and exec produce genre-bending documentaries outside of English-speaking territories, whilst increasing accessibility to the industry through recruitment and feedback structures.

“Carla has handled some of the most challenging and complex contributors we have ever featured with great calm, patience and compassion. The fact that her shooting is really good as well makes her an invaluable asset to the team.”
