Winning a place on the New Writers Collective has been phenomenal, we were able to ask questions of industry professionals, Heads of Development about what they look for in new writers and what happens in a general meeting. This kind of advice is invaluable and usually inaccessible to new writers. An agent let us pick his brains and we learnt not only what an agent wants but the what to expect when starting out even how much we should expect to be paid – which is often cloaked in mystery. 

An outstanding component of the festival is the opportunity to meet with commissioners from all the major broadcasters and streamers – this made me feel that getting on the screenwriting ladder was tangible.
