Pulse Films wins Indie Impact Award

Plus, Wins for Sky, Channel 4 and Prime Video for their New Talent

The TV Foundation, the charity behind the Edinburgh TV Festival, today announced the winners of the 2025 Amplify x New Voice Awards.

Amplify x New Voice Awards returned tonight for their eighth annual awards recognising and celebrating the next generation of creatives from across the industry. This year’s winners were revealed at an awards ceremony held at Curzon Soho, hosted by broadcaster and presenter Elle Osili-Wood.

The TV Foundation is committed to make the TV Foundation open to all; a place where new perspectives, ideas and stories thrive. The New Voice Awards provides a prestigious platform for rising stars to make their mark.

Gangs of London producers, Pulse Films had a big win on the evening picking up the inaugural Indie Impact Award for their work seeking out and nurturing new talent.

Channel 4 and Sky scooped two awards each on the night. Channel 4’s Mary Mandefield won Debut Presenter for The Truth About Brazilian Butt Lifts: Botched Surgery Exposed; and Specs Gonzalez won Best Social Creator for their work on Channel 4.0. Debut Writer went to Sky’s Shyam Popat for The Day of the Jackal, Episode 7; and The Victor Adebodun Award for Debut Director Unscripted went to Mark Devlin for Sky’s Chernobyl, My Promised Land.

Further awards for new talent went to Sam Arbor who picked up the award for The Victor Adebodun Award for Debut Director Scripted for Prime Video’s Dead Hot; and Gabriel Astorga for Future Presenter. The 2025 Mentor of the Year award was presented to producer and director Andy Mundy-Castle.

The TV Foundation’s Impact Director, Gemma Bradshaw said:

“Yet again Amplify x New Voice Awards was buzzing with a room full of the hottest new talent from across the industry. Congratulations to the winners, but also everyone shortlisted, the industry needs to sit up and pay attention to what you’re all doing.”

Amplify x New Voice Awards not only celebrated the newest and brightest talent but also brought the audience some extra inspiration with talks designed to amplify their creative careers. Speakers included: Dhanny Joshi, Managing Director, Big Deal Films; investigative reporter Runako Celina; and Jordan Schwarzenberger co-founder of Arcade Media and manager of The Sidemen.

All individual award winners will receive a free pass to the 2025 Edinburgh Television Festival.
