Edinburgh TV Festival supported by Screen Scotland

ADVISORY COMMITTEE

About the Committee

The Advisory Committee is made up of TV industry professionals that are invited to join by the Festival’s Advisory Chair and the Creative Director.

The Festival is billed as by the industry for the industry because it’s shaped and produced by these industry professionals alongside their day jobs. These experts play a crucial role in creating the programme that will go live in August. Their input helps us ensure that our content is always relevant and engaging, while reflecting the views of the audience.

Being on the committee requires commitment but it’s also fun; it’s important and it’s an honour. It also gives everyone involved the chance to give something back to the industry via The TV Foundation. Our Festival-funded organisation helps the next generation of talent develop the skills needed to secure their dream TV jobs.

The 2023 Festival

Kiran Nataraja, Director of Content Strategy and Planning at Channel 4, is this year’s Advisory Committee Chair and has set the course for 2023. Kiran wants the Festival to explore the passion and responsibility everyone in the industry shares for creating powerful programming that can bring positive change. The Festival programme has also been designed so that ‘TV for all’ is top of mind, and it will look at how the industry can create content that authentically speaks to all viewers.

After its hugely successful return to Edinburgh in 2022, the Festival launches an extended programme this year, with dates confirmed as 22-25 August. Tickets are available now.
