About Us
The Edinburgh Television Festival is one of the most prestigious media events in the UK
"Edinburgh is the highlight of the industry calendar and if you’re not there, you’re missing out”
The Festival is famous for its provocative, informative and entertaining sessions, all created by seasoned TV producers ensuring they are of the highest quality and relevance. Offering more than 60 keynotes, debates and masterclasses, plus scores of networking opportunities, we draw around 2200 professionals from across the globe.
Our speaker Hall of Fame is second to none, featuring high-calibre speakers from media titans to actors, writers, producers, CEOs and channel controllers from the biggest broadcasters. They include Sir David Attenborough, Charlie Brooker, Michaela Coel, Hugh Grant, Armando Iannucci, Louis Theroux, Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Mo Gilligan, alongside the most senior figures from companies including ABC, HBO, NBC, Showtime, Amazon and Netflix.
Now in our 47th year, we maintain a reputation for being the must-attend event in the TV calendar.
The TV Foundation
In 2019 the TV Festival further expanded its remit as the foremost charity dedicated to supporting the TV industry with the launch of a new division - The TV Foundation.
Alongside our much-coveted existing schemes, The Network and Ones to Watch which have helped over 4000 individuals, the Foundation also supports our new scheme TV PhD, our annual New Voice Awards, our partnerships with industry initiatives and year-round events on topics from bullying to mental health.
We remain committed to tackling the big issues, as well as reaching those who don’t believe a
TV career is possible for them.
The Festival team work all year round on making the Festival the place to go if you work in telly. Want to find out more about the programme, sponsorship, or have any general queries, then get in touch!
