Gave has over a decade of experience as a lawyer, executive and board director within the media, arts, and cultural sector. He is currently the Chief of Staff & Senior Director of Programming for CBC where he oversees programming operations, strategy, and partnerships across 9 content areas including drama, comedy, factual, kids, docs, and feature film.

Previously, he was Executive Director of Reelworld Film Festival where he introduced a focus on socially engaged storytelling via film, virtual reality, and video gaming and created the social issue content summit, Media for Impact Conference (MIC). Prior to Reelworld, he worked at CBC in several senior roles responsible for structuring TV, film, and digital production deals. During this time, he concurrently served as Chair of CBC’s Inclusion & Diversity Advisory Committee. Gave began his career as a media lawyer specializing in dispute resolution.

He currently serves on a number of boards including the OMDC, NOW Magazine, Laidlaw Foundation, and the Museum of Contemporary Art Toronto Canada. He holds BA, MBA, and JD degrees from the University of Toronto and is called to the Bar of Ontario.
