Canadian broadcast industry veteran Beverley Shenken is Vice-President, Content & General Manager, Television Division at ZoomerMedia Limited, Canada’s only diversified multi-media company uniquely devoted to creating products, services and entertainment for Canada’s 15.8 million people aged 45plus (dubbed “Zoomers”). Launched by media guru Moses Znaimer (Citytv, MuchMusic, Bravo! etc) in 2008 as a single station start-up, the company has grown to operate 4 TV, 2 Radio, 2 Print, 10 Online and 3 Live Event titles.
At ZoomerMedia, Beverley oversees television-based content strategy across all platforms, acquisition of US and international series and movies, and daily scheduling and broadcast operations for ZoomerMedia’s four television channels which includes VisionTV, the flagship channel available in over 10 million Canadian homes, and ONETV, Canada’s only fitness and lifestyle channel featuring exercise and yoga programs you can do from the comfort of your own home.
Beverley has commissioned over 2900 hours of factual content for ZoomerMedia’s channels. She works with production houses across Canada including ZoomerMedia’s own in-house TV production division, and outside firms such as Peacock Alley Films whose recent popular series A USER’S GUIDE TO CHEATING DEATH premiered on VisionTV in Canada and on BBC in the UK. Their next co-production 50 WAYS TO KILL YOUR MOTHER (a spinoff of the Irish hit) will premiere on VisionTV in 2019.
