“Having finally reached that plane of consciousness from which I can watch others winning things and feel no pain, I am, at last, ready to host the Edinburgh TV Awards. And what host could ask for a better wind beneath his wings than an audience of TV executives? I cannot wait.”Frank Skinner, writer, comedian, TV and radio presenter
Writer, comedian, TV and radio presenter Frank Skinner will host the prestigious Edinburgh TV Awards.
In their 17th year, the highly-coveted awards form one of the highlights of the TV Festival calendar, recognising outstanding talent, and the incredible breadth of genres that broadcasters and production companies produce year after year.
At the TV Awards ceremony on Thursday 23rd August, Skinner will announce to delegates the winners of categories including Channel of the Year, Production Company of the Year, and this year, for the first time a number of new categories allowing the TV Festival to celebrate everything from international drama series to the best breakthrough talent.
The deadline for first round entries for all categories has been extended to Friday 18th May.
Last year, BBC One picked up the coveted Channel of the Year gong, while the Production Company of the Year went to The Crown-producer, Left Bank Pictures.
This year’s TV Moment of the Year category will open from June, with voting taking place via the Festival app, and remain open until Thursday, 23rd August, the day of the Edinburgh TV Awards ceremony.
“Whether it’s comedy, acting, writing or singing – there is nothing that Frank can’t do – and do incredibly well! There is still time to get your entries in, and with Frank at the helm, the night will be bigger and better than ever before, don’t miss out!”Phil Edgar-Jones, Advisory chair, and director of Sky Arts & head of entertainment, Sky
