Applications for The Network 2017 have now closed. All applicants have now been informed of the outcome of their application. Please note that unfortunately we can’t give individual feedback on applications.
The Network is a FREE intensive introduction to working in the TV industry. Earn one of the 60 places on The Network and you’ll spend 4 days learning practical TV making skills from top programme makers, giving you a taster of what it’s really like to work in television. You don’t need to have had any experience of working in television BUT you will have to demonstrate that you LOVE TV.
The Network takes place in Edinburgh between 22 – 25 August 2017.
You do not need any TV experience to apply to The Network, but please make sure that you have read the Before You Start page and you meet the basic criteria.
The application is made up of three different sections: personal information and monitoring information, as well as three longer application questions, to help us find out if you’d be suitable for the scheme – these can either be submitted as a written or video response. It is up to you which format you choose – both types of answer will be treated equally. For more help with these, see our Application Hints & Tips page.
You will also be asked to upload your CV, to help us get a sense of whether the scheme is suitable for you. We won’t be expecting to see TV experience and don’t worry if it isn’t very long. If you’ve had more than 3 months’ of work in TV, you may be over-qualified for The Network.
The Network is committed to equality and diversity. We encourage applications from minorities and people with disabilities.
Unfortunately, due to the number of applications we receive, we are unable to offer feedback. However, please see the Once You’ve Applied page for common reasons why applications may be unsuccessful.
