Judging

Five of the awards – Channel of the Year, Production Company of the Year, New Programme of the Year, Best Factual Programme and Best International Co-Production – are decided through a two stage judging process, involving more than one hundred experts from within the industry.

After the nomination deadline, all entries are collated to form five longlists, which are then voted on by our Executive, Advisory and Talent Schemes committees to create a shortlist of six for each category. Once additional information and showreels have been collected from these six, they are then presented to our jury of specially picked industry experts, who vote to select the five final winners, who are then announced at the Edinburgh TV Awards on Thursday 25 August.

The TV Moment of the Year award shortlist is generated by the Festival team, with delegates being invited to vote for the winner exclusively via the Festival app. Voting will open w/c 27 July and remain open until Thursday 24 August, the day of the Edinburgh TV Awards ceremony.
