Gemma works in comedy at BBC Worldwide, ensuring that the best content is developed, acquired or commissioned from the independent sector. It’s her responsibility to build new partnerships with creative talent in the UK, reviewing scripts and treatments in order to invest in productions. Gemma has also worked as a senior planner, providing strategic direction for drama development, and has experience in audience research at Channel 4, and TV sales at BSkyB. Outside of work, you can often find Gemma enjoying stand-up at the Soho Theatre.
Gemma was shortlisted for the Ones to Watch/Random Acts Live Pitch at the 2015 Edinburgh TV Festival for her idea, Glitches B3 Crazy.
“Gemma’s proven to be a cracking hire. She can turn her hand to all parts of the business, has an incredibly sharp editorial brain and is great with talent. I certainly hope she stays with Worldwide for a long time to come.”
