Ainsley’s passion for television and comedy came from long stints as a self-confessed ‘ill child’ lying on the sofa watching and re-watching a very limited selection of Blackadder, Bottom and The Royle Family videos.
After starting his career at the BBC in Manchester he pursued his goal of working in comedy by moving to London and working across a range of productions. Being described as a modern day Dick Whittington by his Executive Producer after going to his first interview straight from the train station with all of his worldly possessions in his suitcase he finally got his break working in comedy at Talkback, stepped up to DV Director and hasn’t looked back.
Ainsley also enjoys writing, photography and moaning about the South. Equally.
“Ainsley’s passionate about all genres, has a sharp editorial eye and brilliant comic sensibilities. He also has the best hair in television.”
