connectED Speed Meetings FAQs

  1. How do I request a meeting?
    Select the host you would like to meet, click on the ‘Request a Meeting’ button on their profile page, fill in the form and submit online. A ‘Thank You’ screen will pop up confirming that your request has been sent.
  2. Where will the meetings be held?
    The meetings will be held in the Edinburgh International Conference Centre, from 10-00 until 17.00 on Wednesday 22nd and Thursday 23rd August 2018 and 09.00 until 13.00 on Friday 24th August. Follow the ConnectED Speed Meeting signs to the Platform 5 Café.
  3. Can I request a specific time for my meetings?
    The meetings are scheduled according to the availability of the hosts. We hope you’ll make space in your Festival calendar to attend your meetings as we are unable to accommodate individual requests. The ETF programme will be on our YouTube channel, so there’s no need to miss out on any of the sessions.
  4. Why are meetings only available to delegates?
    The speed meetings are part of the whole Festival experience and take place inside the venue. To gain entry to the venue you will need a delegate pass.
  5. How long will my meeting be?
    Your meeting will be ten minutes long. A team member will greet you at the ConnectED reception. They will ensure you arrive and leave your meetings on time.
  6. When and how will I hear if my meeting requests have been successful?
    You will be sent an email the week before the event to confirm the names of the people you are meeting, the exact location and time. We will use the email address you used to register your request to contact you.
  7. Will my meeting request be valid if I am not a delegate at the time of application?
    When you request a meeting we will cross reference your name with the delegate list. If your name doesn’t appear, unfortunately we will not be able to accept your request so please buy your ticket before applying for meetings.
  8. Can I bring a colleague with me to my speed meeting?
    The meetings are a chance for a one-on-one meeting so delegates will have to fly solo.
