Outstanding Achievement Award Interview: Russell T Davies

Television Producer and Screenwriter Russell T Davies will discuss his illustrious career in the 2017 Outstanding Achievement Award Interview, fresh from accepting the accolade at the Edinburgh TV Awards the night before.

Davies will discuss creating some of the UK’s best television dramas and award-winning series including Queer as Folk, Bob & Rose, The Second Coming and Casanova.

In 2005, Davies revived Doctor Who, and created spin-offs Torchwood and The Sarah Jane Adventures. More recently, Davies created the trilogy Cucumber, Banana and Tofu for Channel 4, for which he won the BAFTA for Best Drama Writer. Davies then went on to adapt A Midsummer Night’s Dream for BBC One, and is currently adapting A Very English Scandal, about the Jeremy Thorpe story, for BBC One in 2018, to be directed by Stephen Frears and starring Hugh Grant.
