Whilst Denmark and Sweden have helped place the Nords on the international drama map to launch the Nordic Noir genre, countries such as Norway and Iceland are making waves – and now Finland is getting in on the action and gaining even more international success in other genres too.
With shows such as Black Widows and the yet to be released Deadwind being financed and sold internationally, the Finns are proving that it’s more than just Noir and drama they can produce. And with the Finnish government introducing a 25% cash rebate, Finland is ready and investing solidly into international co-productions.
