Award-winning TV and film producer Mark Gordon is the latest name to join Edinburgh TV Festival’s esteemed line-up of International Gamechangers.
As CEO of The Mark Gordon Company (MGC), which in 2015 partnered with Entertainment One (eOne) to create an independent television and film studio, Gordon develops, finances and produces premium content. MGC’s slate includes projects both developed internally, as well as from other producers and third parties who desire the support and creative input for which the company is known.
MGC is behind ABC’s hit drama series Designated Survivor starring Kiefer Sutherland. Gordon’s television executive producer credits also include global successes such as Grey’s Anatomy, Ray Donovan, Criminal Minds and franchise spin-off Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders, and Quantico.
The former President of the Producers Guild of America also has a raft of films to his credit including the award-winning Saving Private Ryan, Speed, 2012, The Day after Tomorrow, The Patriot, and Steve Jobs.
His upcoming feature film projects include the live action film with Walt Disney Pictures, The Nutcracker and the Four Realms starring Keira Knightly and Morgan Freeman; Molly’s Game starring Jessica Chastain and Idris Elba with eOne; and Murder on the Orient Express with 20th Century Fox, starring and directed by Kenneth Branagh.
Advisory Chair, Diederick Santer said: “Mark Gordon is a prolific producer and it will be fascinating to hear what makes him tick, how he approaches projects and how he has maintained such an illustrious career spanning both film and television. Our goal is to provide delegates with thought-provoking and inspiring content and I’m sure Mark will deliver in spades.”
Gordon joins Kent Alterman, Comedy Central President, and Courteney Monroe, CEO Nat Geo Global Networks on the TV Festival’s Gamechanger strand, with more names still to be announced.
