Martin Freeman, who has successfully made the transition from The Office in Slough to Hollywood is the latest must-see name added to the Festival line-up.
Freeman has been described as one of the finest actors of his generation, celebrated for his roles in Fargo and the Hobbit trilogy, not to mention his award-winning role as Dr Watson in Sherlock (cue screaming fans and Freeman running for cover). Described as a history and politics buff, as well as an avid viewer of quality drama, Martin Freeman In Conversation with Mark Lawson promises to be one of the festival’s must-attend sessions. Freeman will discuss his experiences of working on both sides of the Atlantic with upcoming projects including the next Marvel film, Captain America: Civil War and Fun House starring Tina Fey, and of course, his experiences on Sherlock and working with Edinburgh’s inaugural Lifetime Achievement award-winner Beryl Vertue. Although Beryl is sadly unable to attend the TV Awards, Freeman will be on hand to pay tribute to the industry’s legendary producer. You can see Martin on Thursday at 14:30.
