British writer, actor and comedian Paul Merton, will chair the TV Festival’s ‘Score! How Music Can Help Turn Your TV Show Into A Hit’ panel.
A stellar line up of Oscar, Bafta and Emmy-winning composers will be lifting the lid on the creative process of scoring for television, using live musical demonstrations. Michael Price (Sherlock, The Inbetweeners Movie, Hot Fuzz), Dru Masters (The Apprentice, Undercover Boss, The Unteachables) and Anne Dudley (Poldark, The Full Monty, Les Miserables), will discuss how to bring a series to life with music, how producers can get the best out of composers, and how to score an iconic scene from start to finish.
Advisory Chair, Zai Bennett, said: “We are delighted that Paul is coming back to the TV Festival to chair our music session. As a viewer, it is important that the music score triggers emotion, and evokes feeling and believability. Our esteemed panellists are all highly respected composers, helping to give the programmes we know and love the depth and impact they deserve. With Paul at the helm, and with live musical demonstrations, this will not only be an entertaining session, but informative as well.”
